We are seeking a skilled Linux Engineer responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimising Linux-based systems and infrastructure. The role involves ensuring system stability, performance, and security while supporting deployment, automation, and troubleshooting activities. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Linux administration, scripting, and system monitoring, along with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and technical initiatives.
Support Switzerland R&D shutdown-related activities (transfer of Linux VMs, files etc.) E.g. transfer the Mentor environment from 2 sites and get it up and running in Switzerland in collaboration with the EDA team
Transfer Zabbix-based monitoring to SWITZERLAND and enhance it, e.g., to e.g. help prevent IT system bottlenecks
Continuous improvement and automation of the Linux and EDA environment
Support local IT on the following services
Support users with day-to-day Linux issues
Set up Linux accounts for new hires
Set up and maintain virtual servers (VMware)
Maintain bare metal Linux servers for computers (i.e. simulations)
Install and manage Linux software
Maintain Linux-related storage and network
Maintain local license server
Implement security measures requested by Corporate IT (e.g. installation of data loss prevention software)
Maintain EDA environment so that EDA team can operate smoothly
Set up and maintain GitLab server.
